"A stunning survey of the latest evidence for intelligent life on Mars. Mac Tonnies brings a thoughtful, balanced and highly accessible approach to one of the most fascinating enigmas of our time."
--Herbie Brennan, author of Martian Genesis and The Atlantis Enigma
"Tonnies drops all predetermined opinions about Mars, and asks us to do the same."
--Greg Bishop, author of Project Beta
"I highly recommend the book for anyone interested in the search for extra-terrestrial artifacts, and the political intrigues that invariably accompany it."
--David Jinks, author of The Monkey and the Tetrahredron
"Mac Tonnies goes where NASA fears to tread and he goes first class."
--Peter Gersten, former Director of Citizens Against UFO Secrecy

Anyone who doesn't dig Morrissey deserves nothing but a one-way ticket to "Dumpville". Here's hoping Elizabeth sees the light... you know, the one that never goes out. :-)
Morrissey Rules!

I also need to catch up on my Franz Ferdinand...
I had a scary moment this evening when I thought my CD changer has eaten Portishead's "Dummy." But it was nothing a power drill couldn't fix.
Do you not find that most Morrissey albums leave you with a feeling of "Yes, very nice, but it's not The Smiths, is it now?" In fact, of his solo stuff, only 'Everyday Is Like Sunday' has ever given me the giddy lurch that I felt when I first heard 'Reel Around The Fountain' and 'I Want The One I Can't Have' and 'Bigmouth Strikes Again'?
Or is it just me being an old fart stuck in the days when I had enough hair to construct a quiff?
It seems to me Morrissey deliberately tried to do something different after The Smiths broke up -- not that he could have kept his sound the same had he wanted to, given Johnny Marr's absence.
As for "who's better?," I don't know. The Smiths definitely had an edge that Morrissey's solo work lacks. Then again, Morrissey's best stuff has a maturity The Smiths lacked.
There's stuff on Your Arsenal and You Are The Quarry that is as good, or better, than anything he ever did with the Smiths.
Of course, he's also released some duds as well. But so did the Smiths.

Heretic! :-)
Morrissey has a weird habit of putting some of his best singles on B-sides. One of my very favorites is "Nobody Loves Us."
"Vauxhall and I" is incredibly strong.
