So we're taking a giant leap backwards in space travel, is what this video is saying?
This is ridiculous. Either they're completely lacking any kind of creative vision at NASA, or they're under some kind of pressure not to advance their technology. This looks like something from the 1970s; overcomplicated, bulky, and entirely inefficient. Not that I'm an expert or anything, far from it. But this makes the Space Shuttle look like the Millenium Falcon.
I swear, the sooner we have private space programs that can compete with NASA, the better it will be for space exploration.
There's got to be an easier way.

NASA calls it "Apollo on steroids." I agree that it's an imaginative failure.
