Looks very similar to the 'Contact' contraption...or perhaps they are just building a Jamba Juice/Wild Oats/IHOP/Starbucks Great Beige Strip.
Just to allay any confusion: the drawing is indeed a production sketch of the "Contact" travel machine.
Well, that explains the similarities.
NASA has a Stargate? Oh yeah, well Andre the Giant has a posse! I know this is true 'cause I saw it on a sticker on a telephone pole...;')
