That whole 'Sewer Monster' thing is just weirding me out. Reminds me a little of the Flukeman episode of X-Files. Only a bajillion times grosser.
It reminded me of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, though I suppose I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover; maybe they came in peace. ;)

@Anon."Body Snatchers" was my first thought. It's a dead ringer for the pods from the '78 remake.
Reminds me off a friend of mine who became totally obese!...but semi- seriously...looks a bit rude to me...
The sewer "monster" is seriously disgusting...looks like a big, living tumor to me.But I find the Mickey Mouse Mask even more disturbing. Brings to mind one of the creepier "Dr. Who" episodes."Are you my Mummy?" *shudder*
