Asia, home to more than half the world's 6.3 billion people, could be badly affected by climate change, many experts warn, as the predicted rising sea levels, melting glaciers, droughts, floods, and food and water shortages take their toll.
This is why I always get a good laugh everytime I hear someone going on about China or India being the up and coming "Superpower" of the 21st century. I'm willing to bet there won't be any superpowers in this century or the next. There will be city-states, some with global reach, and some with less. Global climate calamities and shifts will make the existence of geographically vast superstates more or less impossible within 20 years. "Power" will be constantly shifting from one urban node to the next.
