I usually hold fan videos in disdain; they're typically both insipidly literal and grievously sentimental. But this envisioning of Alfonso CuarĂ³n's palpably futuristic "Children of Men" set to Gary Jules' melancholy remake of "Mad World" might be an exception. It's not perfect, but it's certainly a far cry from the usual YouTube fare.

  1. That song just fits the overall feel of the movie so well.

It interesting the difference in reaction my husband and I had to this movie.

At the end I was basically sitting there with my mouth hanging open, while he let out a "Pssht, whatever."

It's hard to do sometimes, but I love him. ;o)

  2. I loved the movie but thought it was far too optimistic. No, I'm not kidding.

  3. I believe you. In a way, I thought they took an easy way out. Plus Clive Owen's character died, and that pissed me off. ;o)
