Look at the relative scale or size of the "scientist" to the "woman"--there's a clue that, you know, a lot of this early scifi stuff is/was adolescent manthink.
Even I first thought, when seeing the cover, "Wow, what a babe!" I've always had a thing for redheads. I hope that doesn't make me a sexist--more of an instinctual, testosty, visceral reaction, I suspect.
