I advocate vegetarianism, but I think PETA makes itself look foolish more often than not. They aim for "shock value," which usually translates to "laugh value." The last thing they should be doing is marginalizing themselves, which is one reason I don't send them any of my money.
I would have set up a grill nearby for a barbeque - just to make my own statement.
