"A World Health Organization study released Tuesday shows that rates of most mental illness are far higher in the U.S. than in any other country in the world."
Why am I not the least bit surprised? But it gets better:
Advertising Damages Mental Health
"The power of pictures of visual communication is also unbroken in adult age. This power of virtual pictures is stronger than logical arguments. Even if you feel elevated above this, the tirade of advertising pictures is still drilled into you."
Is there a connection? PB "field correspondent" Bill Dash (who sent me these headlines) thinks so. So do I. In fact, I predict that the pharmaceutical treatment of new and debilitating mental disorders, brought on at least partly by our ubiquitous media, will be one of America's central growth industries in the first half of the 21st century.
