UFO Flying Formations (Greg Bishop)

The cross image is readily recognizable to almost everyone. It carries with it the symbolism of an entire history of human endeavor, struggle, cruelty and hope. To see this shape floating in the sky, an apparent approval from the Ufonauts, places a confusing and possibly worrisome ingredient into the mix of UFO lore. Someone should look into the history of reported UFO formations for any other symbols that may have been spelled out.

I don't know about Greg, but I do whatever our Space Brethren want me to. I mean, who am I to question their all-encompassing wisdom and celestial insight?

So so I, as long as it doesn't involve giving everything to an earthly leader or giving up sex.

Sounds like I'm ripe for the Raelians!

Hi Mac,
This is a widely-known atmposhreic phenomnon explained in detail here:

http://www.shareintl.org/archives/crosses/cr_ihcro.htm

Also, in the first decade of the fourth century AD, Constantine has his famous vision - in 312, he advanced across the Alps toward an army commanded by Maxentius and challenged him at the Mulvian bridge over the Tiber. On the afternoon before the legendary battle, Constantine had a vision: a flaming cross outlined against the sun, emblazoned with the Greek words "En toutoi nika" (In this sign you shall conquer). Then, as he slept that night, a voice addressed him in a dream, commanding him to have his soldiers mark the chi rho (the monogram for Christ) upon their shields. Constantine obeyed, attacked Maxentius, and won.
[The words "In this sign you shall conquer" are often rendered in their Latin form as: "In hoc signo vinces."]
Now, overlay this on the incredible story that Rene Descartes was visited by what he described as an angel of light, who told him something quite different - not that he would win a battle, but that the conquest of nature would come about by the use of number and measurement...and from that vision, Descartes awakens to basically create the Cartesian method of rational empiricism and modern scientific methodology...science was "founded" by an angelic vision.
I am not a theist, but all of this speaks to something that has been interpenetrating human history and consciousness for untold generations.
Unusual anomalies haunt the epistemic enterprise of human life like ghosts...Cryptos? Extra-Solar Aliens? The consciousness of the biota of this living planet?
The hunt continues...
e

Constantine ["Constantine the Great"], (c. 285-337) Roman emperor of the Western Roman empire (312-24), emperor at Byzantium (322-37) [noted for his conversion to Christianity, his foundation of Constantinople (now Istanbul) in 324, and for his edict of Milan (323)]

It means that ET is ordering us to give absolute unquestioning obedience to Pat Robertson.

No, wait. Mexico is a Catholic country so it must mean that ET is ordering us to give absolute unquestioning obedience to the Pope.

elan,

This would be a fine explanation if the video I referenced in my blog depicted light refracted through a window (or other) glass. The lights were in a formation thousands of feet in the sky.

Also, I mentioned Constantine's "miracle" in the post as well.

The "cross" in the sky, formed of distinct light sources has been reported elsewhere. Whether these are hoaxes or something else is not as important as how it affects people who see it, as you rightly point out.

Hi Mr. Bishop,
Thank you for pointing this out.

If I am not mistaken, there is a certain optical effect, known in physics, whereby a cross of light is seen in the sky (either at sunrise or sunset...I cannot recall all the salient details).
Do you know about this phenomenon?

Sorry I did not see your reference to Constantine in my first (hasty) read of your post.

Also, the line "Unusual anomalies haunt the epistemic enterprise of human life like ghosts..." should have been attributed to Terence McKenna...my oversight.
