"A stunning survey of the latest evidence for intelligent life on Mars. Mac Tonnies brings a thoughtful, balanced and highly accessible approach to one of the most fascinating enigmas of our time."

"I highly recommend the book for anyone interested in the search for extra-terrestrial artifacts, and the political intrigues that invariably accompany it."

It's another Festivus miracle!
I got the 5-disc version that comes in a briefcase.
Almost got to see the final cut in the theater, but the plans fell through so this is an excellent consolation prize!
I love this film.
I saw the movie in the theater when it originally came out in 1982. The special effects just blew me away, way ahead of its time.
Interestingly enough, I never read the original PKD Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, even though I had the story in an anthology collection.
Unfortunately the book was destroyed in a house fire in 1993.
Enjoy the movie Mac!
Ecks--
How's the miniature "spinner" car?
Dad--
I highly recommend PKD's novel. It's substantially different from the movie and stands alone as a unique treatment of the android/post-apocalyptic theme.
Mac,
So nice to see that you have (finally) accepted the incontrovertible truth about religion.
And all it took was a posthuman, cyber-punk legend to fall into your heathen lap...
Enjoy - and PLEASE let us less-fortunate denizens, who could not afford a seat to the off-world colonies, know if Roy uses the word "father" in that paean to posthumanism..."I want more life..."

That's got me curious. My understanding is that Hauer was originally told to pronounce the word "fucker" so that it could be heard as "father" (or the other way around), but that he clearly says "father" in the Final Cut.
I shall see...
Hey, can I rent that BR briefcase from you for a week or so, Mac?
My Halliburton aluminum briefcase just doesn't cut it in those after work bar mixers since Cheney has been so closely identified with the manufacturer, you know.
I hear the BR briefcase is a chick magnet, and I need to walk around my neighborhood with one in order to draw in those magnetic babes who are so inclined to be ferrously attracted to same.
We cryptoterrestrials need to get laid, too, you know. Required by the hybridization council, in fact. So, what's it gonna cost me?
Oh, and would you be willing to part with the spinner car model in exchange for a Charles Burns original seriograph of William Burroughs turning into an alien?
Just wondering....(heh!) 8^}
Merry Unitary Gnostic Xmas!
Wintermuse--
Actually, the 4-disc set is one step away from the uber-cool "suitcase" edition, so I missed out on the spinner car. Maybe I can find one online.
Good Lord, Mac! Say it isn't so! Someone got you the 2nd tier, 4 DVD set in the magnetic br briefcase, instead of the uber edition 5 disc set with associated mini-Spinner aircar?
Who could have perpretated such massive cognitive dissonance!?
Strike them down with an aging Xmas wreath! Or, return said item if possible, and trade-up, as posthuman cypherpundits everywhere demand it! Accept nothing less!
(Unless, of course, that's all that was available, whoever got it for you would be miffed if they found out, and there's no return receipt available...in which case, oh, well).
Man, I sure would like to get one of those die-cast spinner cars for my collection...eh! NBD. 8^}
