Herbie Brennan on faeries

Here's an intriguing clip of author Herbie Brennan pontificating about the existence of faeries. Do "faeries" -- whatever their origin -- exist outside the boundaries of belief? If so, could we even begin to examine them using the instruments of empirical science?

Mutable energy forms of non-human intelligence taking on translucent physical shapes of what the percipient's belief structure may have some expectation of?

Ontological camouflage?

Or simply delusion of illusion?

To spur these questions, and the seeking, when the answers are unobtainable, given the nature of the observed, may be the effective purpose. Or maybe not. Perhaps just a visual fluke, to be considered only as a reminder of the ineffable complexity of reality, and just unknown.

Fairies are quite unlikely to exist as represented, but there may be something else that can display itself in whatever manner it wishes, and which may depend on interactive creation with the observer. But what is shown is not what is -- something else is moving behind the fabricated curtain of the seen, at least sometimes. Nebulous enough for you?

In Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" all the clocks, as above, stopped at 1:17 a.m.

We still have a few years left before the low sound of muffled concussions in the reddening distance leave us with a world of dead black ashes. Fewer years than I thought at any time before. So I guess you can believe in fairies, or cryptos, or whatever you want, for all the difference it makes, which is little to none. The witching hour approaches.

I agree wholeheartedly with that.
