Mac that is truly terrifying. I can only say that I relate strongly. I lived most of my young life amongst the backward, redneck citizens of Leduc Alberta. It was a prairie town or what I like to call the flat deadlands of the north. Desolate, depressing, ignorant and soul eating. The air was toxic, the people more so and for miles all you could see was more miles. Word of advice; GET OUT! GET OUT NOW!
The single best decision I ever made in my life was to pack up and leave my empty, ambition dead friends and family for greener pastures. Don't let work stop you, don't let your little negative voice stop you, just pack up and get the hell out of there before it's too late.
Just an FYI, there's a major labor shortage in Vancouver right now. See you out here ;)
