I've (reluctantly) restricted commenting on this blog to registered users. (You don't have to have a Google ID, incidentally, so don't panic.)

If you encounter any trouble drop me a line. Sorry about the hassle.

Update: Rejoice! I've revoked my decision to restrict comments. If that means I have to endure a few obnoxious anonymous remarks, I suppose that's a small price to pay. Carry on as usual.

Wow, thought you'd joined Big Brother for a minute, Mac. I hate censorship of any kind...

I wouldn't have censored anything. It was simply a matter of filtering out content from unregistered users -- and thus cutting down on comments that are little more than "noise."

But then I realized that cutting down on the "noise" would likely ensure I wouldn't get anymore *good* comments, either ...

My local, sock-puppetish, delightfully (?!) schizoidal "beatnik choir" (Mr. Intense, Dr. X, Wintermuse X9, Rorschach, et al) gratefully thank you for the reversal.

[I/"We"] will try harder to restrain "ourselves," make more relevant and pithy, intelligent comments, and otherwise attempt to contribute more cogently and succinctly to your blog.

(I hope to be starting my own blog within the next 3 months, and will thus have less need to vent here.)

Thanks again! 8^}
