By the way, I actually asked the information desk at Barnes & Noble what "After the Martian Apocalypse" was doing sandwiched between books on psychic healing. As long as they're going to stick it in the "New Age" section, they might as well shelve it with the UFO books -- at least there's some commonality there.
It turns out the "home office" (I'm guessing it looks like the Castle from Franz Kafka's novel) calls all the shots and there's nothing anyone on the local level can do about it. I had sort of figured that might be the case. Go, corporate America!
