The much-anticipated (although not by me) Peter Jennings UFO special is on tonight. Those of you with television might want to catch it.
I'm predicting the usual stew of condescending references, misinformation by obligatory "skeptics," sensationalism, hokey animation, and outright journalistic incompetence that has plagued every prime-time UFO special to date.
But it would be nice to be wrong.

Art Bell had been promoting this event because during a few shows (Of Coast To Coast AM) he had interviewing crew and cameras over at his home (where he broadcasts)
Bell said it should be none of the usual crap, that people promised him it would be as exposing as any before it (although that's not saying much, and I am paraphrasing what I'd like to have heard) , and that it would be a special that really shows the viewpoints and information that hadn't been shown before - especially at network level.
I could go back and listen to the shows in which Bell commented on this, but then I'd just be sure enough to be unsure about what he said.
I wonder, Mac, have you ever listened to Coast To Coast AM?
I was asked to be on "Coast To Coast." I did a quick preliminary interview and they didn't follow up.
Later I was on Hilly Rose's "Fate" radio show; Hilly, a sometimes "Coast" host, thought I had already been on the show. When I assured him I hadn't, he said he'd try to get me on. I'm still waiting.
To answer your question: I've heard bits and pieces over the years. But no, I've never actually listened to a show. Not that I dislike it.
Reports are trickling in... The ufologists I respect think it's shit.
I don't have a TV, but I'll see it on tape.

how right you are :)
I hate being right...
can we at least take a positive out of the fact that the show was on primetime during one of TV's biggest night's on a mainstream network? Or am I reading to far into that?
Man, I liked the show. It wasn't for ufologists, it was for people who think UFOs are a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously. It had some good sober-minded witnesses which is normally missing from TV documentaries. The stuff about Blue Book being a white wash was good. Michio Kaku's last comment that the implications are too important to ignore was good as well.
