I just found out the upcoming Discovery documentary will be filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico instead of at the Lowell Observatory in Arizona. This is good news, as I've never been to New Mexico. And the location features a mock-up of the Martian surface which might be the closest I get to the Red Planet. . . although I still haven't dismissed hope of going there in person. (Can you imagine what the Spirit and Opportunity rovers would bring in on eBay?)
And since this is the celebrated "Land of Enchantment," maybe I'll finally see a UFO . . .

Avoid Roswell - waste of time. Santa Fe and Taos are the best bets, with a return trip to Albuquerque (one of my favourite cities) along the Turquoise Trail!
While in Albuquerque, you can't go wrong (if you have the time, and assuming you're a baseball fan AND a Simpsons fan) if you catch an Albuquerque Isotopes game! Old Town is a lot of fun, too.
I'll definitely try to soak up some good transcendental isolation. (I'm actually quite good at it.)
It would be great fun if "Elizabeth" could come, but I'm not going to push my luck asking the producers to pay for her flight. But I'll take pictures!
What's the focus of the documentary? What do they want from you?
Are you going to see if you can visit Richard Hoagland and Robin Falkov?
From what I know -- and it's not a whole lot -- this is to be an objective (let us hope) look at the possibility of a lost civilization on Mars. I'm not sure if they plan on concentrating solely on planetary SETI or bringing in people from the UFO field.
If I have a chance to see Hoagland/Falcov I'd certainly like to. But if not I'll live. RCH very well might be one of the guests for all I know.
