Many human genes evolved recently

Human genes involved in metabolism, skin pigmentation, brain function and reproduction have evolved in response to recent environmental changes, according to a new study of natural selection in the human genome.

And we're going to keep evolving. Even if transhumanists are mistaken and our destiny is defined solely by blind mutation and natural selection, we will ultimately become something else . . .

Sometimes, though, such a perfect form is achieved that evolution stops. The spider, for instance, has not changed for millions of years.
