Little People Confirmed As New Species

While people can debate the reality of giant hairy Johor Hominids, huge hirsute Canadian Sasquatch, or little furry Hawaiian Menehunes, there's no denying the continuing and expanding picture of the reality of the tiny, three-feet tall human-like beings of Indonesia.

We have their bones.

I've written about this before, but let me reiterate: The similarities between the short-statured humanoids of UFO infamy and the Indonesian "hobbits" are not to be readily dismissed.

It's even conceivable that *multiple* human offshoots evolved independently, in which case we could be sharing the planet with a variety of humanoid "aliens."

If nothing else, the "hobbits" are an interesting demonstration of concept.

I think another interesting aspect of this story is the lack of debate as to how these creatures actually managed to reach the island of Flores, as was the case with the early Homo erectus evidence, which placed them in the same location, some 900,000 years ago. This island could only have have been reached by navigating the open seas, even during recent ice ages when sea levels were hundreds of meters lower than at present.

So one 'primitive' species arriving there might seem accidental, but the arrival of two distinct species only deepens that mystery, particularly when we consider that not only might they have had to construct boats or rafts to make the crossing, but also when we ask how they knew the island was there at all, as it was hidden over the horizon from the nearest dry land. My guess would be through some type of dream, remote viewing or other premonition that persuaded them to undertake their mission - unless of course, they were dropped off by unknown beings for some obscure reason or other.

Incidentally, I've been listening to your excellent interview/chat on Radio Mysterioso last month, which I downloaded, but for the life of me, can't find the original url to link back to, and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction - I had hoped to have written it up by now, but it's just one of about a dozen things I've started over the last few weeks, but not finished, as recent illness has left me with slightly less energy than my shadow. Are you still thinking of doing some podcasts of your own? thanks, and all the best, Tim

Another interesting point here is that humans...through evolutionary process...have always found novel ways to overcome physical limitations. Perhaps these diminutive folk learned methods of getting things done that precluded the need for stature, or increased physical strength.

In fact, one wonders what the evolutionary "lower limit" on human size might be if the need for physical means of defense and self-sufficiency were rendered irrelevant.

Swift might have been more right than wrong...

What's that old saying..."the meek shall inherit the earth"?

Fascinating, indeed.
