I'm basically sick of movies. I simply no longer have any urge to see them, on the big screen or otherwise. Nonetheless, there are a few exceptions, and "Future by Design" is one of them (alongside "A Scanner Darkly" and -- possibly -- "An Inconvenient Truth").

I'm waiting impatiently in the hope that 'A Scanner Darkly' can give us a truely Dickian(?) movie.
Something(in my view)that none of the previous attempts have achieved. They always screw it up by injecting the 'hero' thing.
Minority Report was the worst.
Dick's characters were NEVER in control.

P.S. And "Superman Returns" as well.

Pisces--

"Blade Runner," to my mind, was an authentic PKD movie. Ford's character was far from heroic, more in line with "Do Androids Dream...?"

I liked "Minority Report" a lot; it had a lot of paranoid Dickian concepts and technological riffs. I even liked Tom Cruise. But I know what you mean.

Paul--

All right, all right! :-)

I do like blade runner, but it doesn't begin to capture that utter 'what the fuck is going on here?' thing that Dick gets going.

Yeah, it doesn't reach that uber-paranoid ambience some of Dick's novels achieve. Then again, it wasn't meant to. "Scanner," on the other hand, seems to be going for that weird Dickian existentialism.
