All this has convinced Professor Wickramasinghe that the red rain is a form of alien life.
"Before I came I had grave doubts as to whether the red rain was really an indication of life coming from space; new life coming from space," he said.
"But on reflection and after talking to Godfrey, I think I would now fairly firmly believe that it did represent an invasion of microbes from space."

I've been interested in this story since the beginning. I think the reason it doesn't get more mainstream play here in the US is because it's so plausible. It's not any far fetched sci-fi, it's bacteria hopping a ride from somewhere else to the fertile grounds of the Earth's atmosphere. I certainly look forward to any more details that come out of this story in the future. The idea that "ET life" in any form could be, at least, semi-proven by just sitting here on Earth almost seems too easy.
I find it significant that this stuff has been analyzed in labs -- by qualified scientists -- since 2001 . . . and, as far as I know, *no one has been able to offer a terrestrial explanation*. It's likely this is the real thing: ET life.
