One I missed:

Advanced Civilizations in the Universe - A Galaxy Insight

If extraterrestrial intelligence exists, Stephen Dick concludes in an article in the International Journal of Astrobiology, it has probably evolved beyond biology to an advanced form of artificial intelligence that is the product of million or billions of years of technological and cultural evolution similar to the civilizations Arthur C Clarke envisioned that created the Tycho Monoliths in 2001 - A Space Odyssey. In a post-biological universe machines are the dominant form of intelligence.

Hi Mac,

Not sure if you've read David Grinspoon's "Lonely Planets", but he has some interesting things to say about what an advanced civilisation would be like...kind of resonates with a lot of Vallee etc to me (although I think Grinspoon might be shocked if he were told).

Kind regards,
Greg

See, this is the thing that fascinates me about some of the "higher bar" and perceptive abduction research. There's a pattern in that research which eludes to a race of bioengineered beings transferring their consciousness into new vessles when the old ones wear out. Whether these bodies are organic or mechanical is up for some debate.

Every time I read some of the more advanced postulation regarding "extraterrestrial intellegence" I am always drawn back to material we already have on hand and the greater potential that they may already be here.

Denny--

You're not the only one.

That's right. We are here. Always have been. What of it?

I am not convinced they are transferring their consciousness, the state of our human intelligence would seem to belie that, but I am convinced they are here and perhaps always have been.
