"A stunning survey of the latest evidence for intelligent life on Mars. Mac Tonnies brings a thoughtful, balanced and highly accessible approach to one of the most fascinating enigmas of our time."

I personally like it. Makes it load a little faster for me...
The page did load quickly. It was a little strange at first to see something different when the page came up, but a little strange is what it's all about.
Personally I think it looks fine. You went from a vacation from the site into a total redo. Changes it seems are afoot.

Very clean looking. Nice!
I've had this template for my blog for a while now, and I was actually thinking about switching mine too. It's a nice, clean, bright, fresh, contemporary look. Suites the blog well I think.
Fresh!
I think the previous one was better. I miss the winged skull graphic. Lot of white space around the text, sort of bland compared to the original. Guess I'm a contrarian, or something.

You don't have to rely on blogger's generic templates
I like it. Will there be a banner image?
Nice, Mac. The new look really makes that graphic to the right stand out. Loads really fast too!
I'm generally against white backgrounds, but it is easy on the eyes. It does seem to be missing something, though. Perhaps it's just the banner.
I have to say that I like it -- although I miss the banner graphic, which just didn't seem to fit the new template. And if the blog's loading faster that's naturally a big plus.
If I can find a minimalist graphic to put in place of the old banner I probably will. In the meantime, I *think* I'll stay with this.
(Thanks to Anonymous for suggesting going with a non-Blogger template, which had barely even occurred to me -- possibly because I'm afraid of losing five years of content to the ether. And thanks to everyone else for taking the time to voice their opinions!)
Took me a few seconds to get used to, but I like it now that I am used to it.
"...I'm afraid of losing five years of content to the ether."
What? You don't have your content backed up and archived off line?
What if blogger has some major meltdown? And you do lose all those years of work/content? I really strongly advise you to, in some manner, back up all of your content. Just to be safe.
Thinking about that, there is a moribund blog whose content, including comments, I would like to try to archive--does anyone know how best to go about that?
The user whose blog I'm concerned about stopped adding new content to in May of last year, and apparently abandoned it, and in some ways it's very significant. I've tried to archive it in Word, but that doesn't work very well--extremely tedious.
How would I best archive it? Any recommendations?
Very nice and slick. I would almost dare a impudent "yummy". Wow.
Looks great to me.
Change is good.
But definitely back your work up!
And maybe you could use one of your Flickr photos as a banner graphic @ the top...
Stahlhelm--
An impudent "yummy"? Hey, I'll take it! (I love your blog, by the way. It makes me wish I knew more French.)

And maybe you could use one of your Flickr photos as a banner graphic @ the top...
I've actually been considering just that.
Try the one you just took outside the Sony store--plenty of angst, and even more eerie.
