if he has it's about time, as the roswell evidence has grown flimsier and flimsier over the years.
the ET Hypothesis as an explanation for UFOs has grown stale (or at least as its usually put forth) and worn itself out over the years, and as its fruits become increasingly barren it wouldnt be a surprise to see more moderate nuts-and-bolts researchers such as randle eventually move towards a generally skeptical or even debunking stance as years go by.
putting all your eggs in the ETH basket would tend to lead to profound disillusionment once its flaws become apparent.
well, that's my cynical interpretation anyway.
I think you're right to be a bit cynical of the ETH. FWIW, Randle is already a debunker of so-called abductions -- and for the most part, correctly so.

It will be interesting to see where Kevin goes with this. Good researchers will always alter their original conclusions if new evidence comes to light indicating they were in error. That's the difference between a search for the truth, and dogma.
As for the ETH, the key letter is the "H" - "hyposthesis." As such, it is still valid. So, however, are others, for a phenomenon where there is no clear answer.
