Quite possibly NSFW.
Quite possibly? More like "most definitely!" Ewww... Guess it depends where you work. :oP
Frankly, I've never found octopi to be that erotic.
Wow, that was kinda creepy. I guess the snake thing's been done to death, so kudos to the photographer for taking it one step further, I guess.
Maybe -- just maybe -- if your blog is your highest profile website right now, and you want it to influence the dialogue in the wider world about planetary SETI, the UFO enigma, the environment, and a host of other thoughtful subjects...
...maybe including pictures of octopus hentai are not the way to go?
Carol--
I like to have fun, too. If everything I posted had to be relentlessly PC I wouldn't even bother.
There's nothing inherently wrong with cephalopod hentai as such.
But since you noted that the picture was "quite possibly" NSFW, I would hasten to say that photos of naked ladies of this sort are indeed NSFW, and thus inaccessible to many of your readers at many times of the day.
There's a lot of competition on the net and in mundane space for eyeballs, and if you're competing for them, it's better to be able to keep them there while you've got them there, rather than make them go away.
Deciding to have pictures that encourage one-handed surfing is a marketing decision you make.
Carol--
Point taken. But again -- I maintain this blog for fun. I'd never post anything pornographic or deliberately offensive; I found the octopus image engagingly disturbing and whimsically erotic.
Bear with me!
Mac:
Shouldn't that be "bare" with me.
;-)
Paul
She's not "bare"; she's *wearing an octopus*!
