But since you noted that the picture was "quite possibly" NSFW, I would hasten to say that photos of naked ladies of this sort are indeed NSFW, and thus inaccessible to many of your readers at many times of the day.

There's a lot of competition on the net and in mundane space for eyeballs, and if you're competing for them, it's better to be able to keep them there while you've got them there, rather than make them go away.

Deciding to have pictures that encourage one-handed surfing is a marketing decision you make.; 10:03 PM

Point taken. But again -- I maintain this blog for fun. I'd never post anything pornographic or deliberately offensive; I found the octopus image engagingly disturbing and whimsically erotic.
