It looks like the crow bent the freaking wire (or bent it more) to make a hook so it could loop it around the handle of the thing in the tube and hoist it up.

I always thought crows were smart. Maybe that's why they make people nervous.

There are studies which suggest that crows are actually even smarter than chimpanzees.
