Very interesting!

Three of the movies on the list are in my personal top 5. Maybe I'm a pessimist at heart.

No Zardoz? You can't beat Sean Connery in a diaper and floating stone heads for dystopian fun!

Reviewing the list, I realized that RoboCop (especially RC I& II) and Blade Runner are at the top my of Dystopia list. The first two RoboCops work amazingly well as social satire (especially of corporate life) in addition to having some great action scenes. Blade Runner is probably THE modern dystopian flick....

It's nice to see "Minority Report" gets its due - one of Spielberg's best.

I thought Spielberg's "A.I." was even better, though I wish Kubrick had lived long enough to make his version of it.

The alien robot entities in AI were beautifully realized. The film was quite poignant, IMHO.

If you haven't seen "Running Man", check it out. Yes, it's cheesy and corny as all hell, but it's portrayal of media and mass entertainment in the "future" is eerily familiar. Definitely prophetic. Good to see Farenheit 451 in there too!
