Open season, nine times over
"'This really crosses the line in human and cat relations,' said Ted O'Donnell, owner of a pet supply store in Madison. He has set up a website called dontshootthecat.com. 'I remember when firefighters used to rescue cats -- not shoot them.'"
I've got a better idea. How about we round up all these macho men who want to kill stray cats and use them for laboratory research? They're tough; they can take it.

I saw that site earlier today, and I almost posted it at NTM! I don't have a problem with people wanting to protect the cats, I am a cat owner, I love cats, however...just because they are cute and fluffy, does not mean they don't ravage the bird and squirel popluations.
Oddly enough, no where in the research article does it say "we need to shoot cats, or anything like that.
Subsequently in the News article, O'Donnell says, "study was scientifically flawed and ignores alternatives, such as trapping and euthanizing such cats." But he doesn't say HOW it's flawed...the study does offer the neutering option as a solution.
Plus on the site, dontshootcats...it just says, "We question the validity of this study." They need to back it up.
If you have to fight science, use science, don't just make shit up.
