Got wrong? Perhaps it has something to do with the term:
Science FICTION. Not fact.
There is no way you can read this article without feeling that the author wrote it as a joke.
If it is not a joke, the author is truly narrow minded.
Who is he to judge/decide/say/predict etc. what the other planets look like ? Not to mention faster than light travel, time travel, different Alien species ...
There are things in the universe we wouldn't even notice, let alone understand.
The arrogance to think that science's present understanding of the universe is the final one.

I don't think there are many scientists who think our current understanding of the universe is the final one.
(In the field of religion however...)
