Today's my lucky day (so far -- and since it's not even 1:00 AM I guess that's not saying much): I just found a site devoted exclusively to David Cronenberg's film version of J.G. Ballard's "Crash."

(Thanks, Ballardian!)

That movie is an intense ride. The study of a small group that gains pleasure from car crashes. What a strange fetish indeed. After a serious accident I was involved in many years ago, I too noticed that it seemed like there were more cars on the road immediatly afterward, much like Ballard did in a dialog before (or during... I can't remember... it's been years) driving again w/ Remington. How often the things that hurt us, later in life actually thrill us.

Pain / Fear = feeling something real...

Nice to encounter someone who "gets" "Crash." Way too many people take it literally.
