Or perhaps the realization that he himself is a robot with synthetic memories!
Not much to say here except that in the quote he is not talking about love but about marriage. Marriage is a legally binding contract, it has nothing to do whatsoever with love in that sense. (And you can't yet have a legally binding contract with your dog or robot.)
As far a love is concerned, and presumably he is too, I don't see how that is anybody elses business.
