The Venus Project

One of the cornerstones of the organization's findings is the fact that many of the dysfunctional behaviors of today's society stem directly from the dehumanizing environment inherent in the existing monetary system.

It's interesting; my worry in large-scale social revisionary projects is that the bravado/quest for progress--necessary to get the project off the ground--will make the project itself a dangerous place for people with overt needs (the elderly, the mentally disabled, children, etc.). This can happen when the project takes on an air of movement towards perfection and doesn't grasp our own finitude. This, of course, can be avoided.
