If that's the best they can do, then I'm not surprised that the space program is in such rough shape. Come on, NASA, we expect much better from you!
By the way, when did a Mars bar transform from a candy bar into an "energy bar"? Can't we just burn those instead of oil?
Rechristening candy bars "energy bars" is a damned smart marketing move...
And here's the face on Mars: http://notweird.com/bugsport/page13.html (I don't think I found the link in this blog, but I can't remember where else I would've found it.)
I believe that these are the same people who thought they were going to be cutesy about a year ago, and showcase some Mars features that looked to them like something on Earth, just like those silly anomalists.
They very proudly trotted out a picture of something they announced was a peace symbol on Mars. Wowie zowie.
While they were patting themselves on the back for being so terribly clever, they were making total asses of themselves and showing their visual illiteracy. They weren't able to tell the difference between a peace sign (4 internal arms) and the Mercedes logo (3 internal arms).
Sometimes I think they don't quite understand Terran culture.
But is the glass 2/3 full or 1/3 empty?
