Mac,
You have come across one of the great unknown treasures in Forteana film history - Killer Klowns from Outer Space!
A must-see even for those who are afflicted with Coulrophobia!
...and in that curious trickster realm where the absurd and the mundane intersect, Google Charles Bonnet Syndrome and you'll see how many of the visions are described as "clown-like".
The bizarreness of this alien depiction is totally undermined by the seemingly completely understandable, and quite mundane, motive of getting humans to eat. (This assumes that the info I found online about the movie's plot is accurate, as I haven't seen the flick.)
Elan--
Most don't realize it, but "Killer Klowns" is actually a documentary!
OMG! I love this movie! lol...my little sister and I came up with a theory that evil cannibal clowns from outerspace were the original inspiration for Barnum and Bailey.

I still recall a brief exchange between myself and a friend as we were watching "Killer Clowns" one evening, many years ago:
Rod: This is asinine.
Sean: Actually, I think it has to work its way up to asinine.
Fun, though. Good fodder for Science Fiction Theatre 3000, but I don't know if they ever lampooned it, or not.
Long before "Killer Clowns" came out, a couple friends and I would periodically go up to the university to attend old "Flash Gordon" marathons. This was in the days when I still partook of the "holy vegetable." We'd be "in the zone," and armed with several one-pound bags of peanut M&Ms, and we would literally laugh until our sides hurt, watching cheesy old Flash Gordon. Particularly funny was the "rock head men" - the heads of this strange race of beings were supposed to be rocks, but they were obviously paper mache, and on the close-ups, you could see through the eye-holes, and see the guy in inside. But it was their "alien language" that was most hilarious: normal human speech, played backwards.
Anyway, we might have expired from laughing if "Killer Clowns" would have been around then.
