I think "Elektro" may predate Asimov's laws of Robotics. Also, it appears Elektro although full of sensory equipment and ready to move, appears to lack a control center which might be programed with the laws of Robotics. In this case the controller would most like be a human being to whom these laws do not apply.
I also wonder why the poor guy is equiped for smoking, but not for eating and drinking... hmmm maybe that old excrement problem...

And thank God for that. Any robots we eventually build are gonna be either gonna be infinitely cooler-looking or infinitely more-humanlike.
