Mystery ailment strikes honeybees

A mysterious illness is killing tens of thousands of honeybee colonies across the country, threatening honey production, the livelihood of beekeepers and possibly crops that need bees for pollination.

Researchers are scrambling to find the cause of the ailment, called Colony Collapse Disorder.


First the birds. Now the bees . . .

it doesn't sound like an ailment, it sounds like the bees are under a lot of stress over the winter and can't survive it. maybe something to do with global warming making the regions hospitable for new threats to bee health. maybe it's bee aids. also maybe go find some correlation between sudden colony death syndrome and when some new pesticide hit the market. maybe its roundup
