Cuaron is an absolute genius. Children of Men was the best film made last year, and it's a scandle that it didn't even get mentioned at the Academy Awards.

Wow that was the biggest piece of left wing propaganda I've seen all month. The author must also be a 911 truther. Socialism/fascism/Communism are not mentioned here at all at being the REAL repressive governments. But of course a capitalist system, is the root of all evil. What weak arguments presented here. I'm also confused about the images of the tsunami and 911 and then weakly linking them to really being an excuse for more capitalism and free trade, last I checked the constitution gave us those rights. Also, Is the author then trying to advocate more government involvement and controls?
I thought anarchist's want to keep the government out of our lives. This video made no sense at all. Just another way to demonize our troops and our great country. The video seems to try and accomplish exactly what it seems to be speaking out against. Fear and shock.

Please, spare us the neo-conservative tripe and go play in the kiddy pool.

I totally agree. Chalk one up to the critical mainstream's aversion to anything "science fiction."

Thing is, C.O.M. wasn't even really all that science-fictiony; it was more like a war movie than anything else. It reminded me of "Saving Private Ryan" more than "A.I." or "Minority Report," with its washed-out cinematography, natural light, and the backdrop of burnt-out city and fading rural landscape.

The 'ol Lit. major in me coming out!

You bet. Which totally elevated it, visually and otherwise, from "the usual."

Frankly, I thought it had the cinematic texture of a documentary.

It is so sad to see young US intellectuals brainwashed by the leftist propaganda.

So a few Friedman's thoughts taken out of context illustrated by a bunch of stylishly-montaged shots making together no sense whatsoever (911 & tsunami as the guy above points out) should make us believe free market is ultimate culprit of all human distress.

According to Ms. Klein people never wanted to be free because it causes unemployement and political coups to name a few. So evil gnome Friedman devised his twisted plan to force freedom upon us no matter we like it or not through the so-clever method of large scale shock treatment.

Shock treatment? Sure. Listen to Alex Jones. At least this guy has some reasoning to back his claims. Klein talks nonsense.

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strenght. Oh yes, especially the last one is not gonna let itself be forgotten.

Shame on you, Mac, for posting this. Should you be born in a communist country as I was, with your intellectual prowess that you demonstrated here many a time, you would never ever let yourself be fooled like this.

I don't think I've been "fooled" at all. I see "disaster capitalism" as a very real human rights abuse and an increasing threat in a world likely to suffer an exponentiating number of climate-induced disasters.
